The NSCN(K) has claimed that several cadres of the NSCN (IM) have surrendered to the outfit along with sophisticated arms and ammunition following set backs in the IM group.
In a statement, the Khaplang faction said that four cadres of the IM's ZB battalion, namely Capt Shikiho, Capt Khekishe, Capt Akaho and Corporal Ammam surrendered to the 7th Bn Naga Army along with 3 AK series rifles, one LMG and 6 Mark 4 rifles with a huge quantity of ammunition recently.
In another incident, Sgt Maj Vikuho, Corporal Pitovi Sema and Corporal Lebung Konyak from AC Bn, Chandel district surrendered to the Acting Chairman, Sumi region with 2 AK series rifles and one US carbine, the outfit said.
It said the surrendered cadres disclosed that the cause of the bloodshed and killing of brothers is the instigation of Muivah's gang in the Isak-Khodao group who are totally against the unity of the Nagas.
The NSCN (K) said it welcomes those who have joined the mainstream and also those willing to join hands with true revolutionary organizations.
In a separate statement, the outfit said it has freed two reactionaries of Isak-Khodao group as a sign of goodwill gesture.
The two cadres were nabbed in separate occasions.
SS Corporal Mughavi Sumi of Jacob Bn was handed over to his father unharmed in the presence of Sumi Hoho Mokokchung town.
Pvt Lhotovi S/o Chinisho of Ghathashi town was arrested by the security command of UT-1, but without hesitation was handed over to the village council of Shoxuvi on the 24th of this month, It said.
